59ª Bienal Internacional de Veneza A Galeria Lume parabeniza o artista representado Roger Ballen, pela participação no pavilhão da África do Sul na 59ª Bienal Internacional de Veneza, The Milk of Dreams, curada por Cecilia Alemani. Sobre Roger Ballen Sua produção, que se estende por cinco décadas, começou no campo da fotografia documental, mas evoluiu para a criação de domínios ficcionais distintos que também integram os meios de cinema, instalação, teatro, escultura, pintura e desenho. Pessoas marginalizadas, animais, objetos encontrados, fios e desenhos infantis habitam os mundos inlocalizáveis apresentados nas obras de Ballen. O artista descreve suas obras como psicodramas existenciais que tocam o subconsciente e evocam as entranhas da condição humana. Visando romper os pensamentos e sentimentos reprimidos, envoltos em temas de caos e ordem, loucura ou estados indisciplinados de ser, a relação humana com o mundo animal, vida e morte, arquétipos universais da psique e experiências de alteridade.    59th International Art Exhibition of La Biennale di Venezia 59th Venice International Biennale We are very proud to announce that Roger Ballen will be one of the featured artists that will represent South Africa at the Venice Biennale Arte 2022, themed "The Milk of Dreams".    About Roger Ballen His oeuvre, which spans five decades, began with the documentary photography field but evolved into the creation of distinctive fictionalized realms that also integrate the mediums of film, installation, theatre, sculpture, painting and drawing. Marginalized people, animals, found objects, wires and childlike drawings inhabit the unlocatable worlds presented in Ballen's artworks. Ballen describes his works as existential psychodramas that touch the subconscious mind and evoke the underbelly of the human condition.
